I will beleive CC's analaysis over a magazines anyday. MX (motorcycle) magazines have a little leaway in their opinions because the machines change EVERY year unlike the Utes. Its not uncommon for an MX magazine to say we disliked X brands X trait last year but X brand revised X trait and now we love it. But to say the same thing in a Ute review when nothing has changed from year to year is just a cop out.

The Outlander 800R seemed to be the shining star here, and its one hell of a quad. Can Am also has the full page ad on the back cover of the issue?

Was out riding with Warrior~Kid today. Took video fottage showing a Rincon being started in gear. Will post link later tonight for YouTube evidence.

2010 Honda Rincon, Red, Bone Stock
2005 Suzuki King Quad, Yellow, also bone stock.

Exactly the reason I subscribe to no quad mags currently. Haven't in years. Seems like the company with the most, and most expensive, ads was always getting the best reviews. Coincidence? I think not!

From the article..... They dug DEEP for this one.

Yamaha Grizzly

Pros: Lightweight, does everything well.

Cons: Taller handlebars, doesn't do anything great.

How much evaluation time was spent looking up the comparative weight of the machine, or noticing the hi rise handlebars that Yamaha has been using all along (my 1998 Grizz 600 had em too)? As for the latter statements, what do these guys want? To say a quad does everything well, is pretty high praise, and in this case, well deserved, IMO. Maybe if we could get Pastrana to jump one over Mr Kaiser's hair......

J/K Tom.

I'd like to point out that I made this rather toxic thread well over a week ago, and not one single reaction from the Mag people, nor has anyone from the Mag even posted on the Forum since then. I have to believe they haven't even looked on here, as this thread should have triggered a response, to say the least.

Moral of the story is this. Its up to us to keep this place going people! No more whining about software, Mag participation, page layout, or anything else, cuz none of that is gonna change.

Just keep posting.

Oh yeah...by the way.........

Ran into one of head guys at the NH ATV Club, probably the largest in New England. When I mentioned the Magazine, the first thing that came out of his mouth was a critique of the big bore review. First thing he mentioned? Yes, the Rincon starting in gear thing. Second thing? The Grizzly 750FI misprint. Embarrassing for the mag.

If this place ever shuts down, its because the Mag will go belly up, and take everything with it in the process.

Well CC maybe the next issue will have a retraction or correction on the article. Either way it would be hard for an outsider to take a Magazine's website seriously when they make blatant factual mistakes like that.

Where would you like the manufacturers to advertise, womens weekly? Take the articles for what they are, the magazines way of getting people to pick it up and spend money on it. Even though Can Am has made the best big bore since 2006 they havent won every shoot out now have they. The mags like to mix it up to keep things interesting. No one likes to see the same team win all the time. Although i do like to read the shoot outs, (have been since the late '70's) i take what i read as just the opinions of the test riders nothing more. In 2010 every manufacturer makes a good quad, not much to argue about.

LOL, Woods i admire your undying 'everything is a conspiracy' way of thinking!
