Well just got home. I can remember when i first took a small ride on the Renegade and thought boy i would love one of these. Now that i have truly tested the machine i have a new outlook. I would not buy one. I would defintaly get a Rincon, buy a locker kit and save money. The rincon drives easier and goes anywhere the Renegade will go.
I did spend most of the day in two wheel drive. Just not comfortable to drive in 4 wheel. Worst part is that when i needed the 4 wheel drive i had to stop to shift it then i had no momentum and i was all done unless i backed up and got a new run. And then the 4 wheel drive is only truly usefull if you go all balls. Try to go slow and like CC said you will be diging to China before you know it.
There where times i had all i could do to hang with CC on the Rincon. Oh yeah and when we where all done eveyone had plenty of gas for a few more hours except one. The Gade. Fuel light was flashing at least a half an hour before the end of the ride.

Just had the stock holeshots on mine and found it didnt take much to bury it to the frame, guess its just not designed for that. I'm sure tires would help sowewhat but as CC stated the visco lock kicks in too late. At least it does kick in eventually, unlike some Rincons i know! lol CC put a 2" lift on that quad and some real tires and SS rims.
If I trick anything out, it'll be the King Quad. Considering a Gade and Outty are virtual twins in the chassis, suspension, and driveline departments, wouldn't they avt the same? I really think if the Gade had a regular locker with a switch, much headache and winching would have been avoided.
Oh yeah, 1bad's Grizzly snapped a tie rod several miles from anywhere. I dragged him back to civilization backwards with the King Quad. The dealer where we parked is great. They customized a temporary replacement in about an hour, and had us back riding. Glad to see you guys had a good time. Now that's real world ATV testing. Wonder what Bear's excuse for the Renegade performing poorly will be. We must have defective snow in NH; or you weren't above 6000 feet. I'm surprised there is still so much snow up there. Have a safe trip home.

Thanks Grizz, a safe trip was had by all. Oh yeah, there was a ton of snow up there, and the higher we climbed, the deeper it got. I'd have to say snow depth prevented us from riding roughly 1/3 of the park. Some of the trails with the scenic lookouts are just simply not accessible with ATVs, unless you have a set of tracks. We were in well over 2 feet where we stopped trying to go higher, and my buddy Randy, who owns Jericho Motorsports at the park entrance, says he's been up there with his track equipped Prowler, and theres more than three feet up there. Wish there weren't. Some of the best trails are in the top half of the park, climbing to the various summits. Still, we had a great time, and made the most of what was available for terrain.

Steve (1badbanshee) on his Grizz.

Steve and Ashley

Steve Price, Steve Sanders, Chris Chagros, Frank Sutherland

Ole CC running reconnaissance

Steve and Frank. Steve celebrated each time the little Rancher made it through another obstacle. I think this trip finally convinced him that after ten years of faithful and flawless service, its time for the 350 to become his second machine. My guess would be he will buy a Rincon.

Looks real good. I am not much for the snow riding being I am a motorcycle guy, but damn it would be nice to get out and ride more than just my street bike on the one off warm day. And that really told the story on how it is very important to match the tires and machine to the specific type of conditions your going to be riding in.

Awesome thread right from the beginning. You're bringing me out of my Winter depression. But what happened to NH King Quad(Dave), I thought he was joining you on the trip. Wish him well, from me, regardless. I'm all registered up, as of this week, so, next trip I'll try to be in. What about Pisgah,(open year round) in the upcoming weeks? We met up with Dave their several years back. I've been dieing to hit the 4x4 only trail there again. Wolvie and I went about a mile in last time, and he did quite well with a YFZ. But it has about 5 miles of nasty trail remaining. I believe it actually hooks up with the Vermont trails system, but don't quote me on that. Let's get something organized.

I have a few more pics to add but my reader writer doesnt want to read my memory card so i gotta find my other one or will have use my laptop. Cant upload at home, only at work, thats why i havent uploaded them yet.
And thanks to Jericho Motorsports for saving the day. If it werent for them the Grizzlys day would have been cut short. They found a tie rod end that actually went to a can am and made it work. They made sure i new this was a temporary fix before they made it work. It fit in the tie rod but the other end was loose so they fabbed up a shim to make it tight. Got me through the rest of the day with no problems. Have a new pair on the way. I will post more pics when i get them uploaded.
Wonder where Kawi is to defend the inferior Renegade. Oh and the tires on the Gade were actually 26s.
